SpoofWard Academy

SpoofWard Academy is an interactive learning platform built into the dashboard that helps you and your team master email security concepts. Browse structured courses, track your progress, and earn certificates as you build expertise in DMARC, SPF, DKIM, and related technologies.

Accessing the Academy

To open the Academy, click Learn → Academy in the top navigation bar. The Academy homepage displays available courses, your progress, and any certificates you have earned.

Available Courses

The Academy offers a growing catalog of courses covering core email security topics. Each course is self-paced and can be completed in your own time.

Foundational Courses

• Email Authentication Basics — An introduction to why email authentication matters, how spoofing works, and the role of SPF, DKIM, and DMARC in preventing it. Ideal for non-technical stakeholders.
• DMARC Fundamentals — Covers DMARC policy syntax, alignment modes, reporting mechanisms (RUA and RUF), and the enforcement journey from p=none to p=reject.
• SPF Deep Dive — Detailed exploration of SPF record syntax, include mechanisms, the 10-lookup limit, macro usage, and common pitfalls when managing complex SPF records.
• DKIM Explained — Covers how DKIM signing works, key pair generation, selector naming, DNS TXT record publication, key rotation, and troubleshooting signature failures.

Intermediate Courses

• Reading DMARC Reports — Learn how to interpret aggregate (RUA) and forensic (RUF) reports, identify unauthorized senders, and use report data to improve authentication rates.
• Third-Party Sender Management — Strategies for discovering, authorizing, and monitoring third-party services that send email on your behalf.
• MTA-STS and TLS-RPT — Understand how MTA-STS enforces TLS encryption for inbound email and how TLS-RPT provides visibility into delivery failures.

Advanced Courses

• BIMI Implementation — Learn how to display your brand logo in recipient inboxes using Brand Indicators for Message Identification, including VMC certificate requirements.
• Email Security for Compliance — Covers regulatory requirements for email authentication across industries including finance, healthcare, and government.
• Threat Intelligence and Response — How to use SpoofWard's threat data to identify and respond to active spoofing campaigns, lookalike domains, and business email compromise attempts.

Course Structure

Each course follows a consistent structure designed for effective learning:

Lessons

Courses are divided into individual lessons, each covering a specific concept. Lessons include:

• Written content with diagrams and examples
• Interactive demonstrations using your own domain data where applicable
• Key takeaways summarized at the end of each lesson

Quizzes

At the end of each course section, a short quiz tests your understanding of the material. Quizzes are multiple-choice and provide immediate feedback with explanations for each answer. You can retake quizzes as many times as needed.

Progress Tracking

Your progress is saved automatically as you work through each course. The Academy dashboard shows:

• Courses in progress — Courses you have started but not completed, with a progress bar
• Completed courses — Courses where all lessons and quizzes are finished
• Overall completion rate — Percentage of available courses you have completed
• Time spent — Total learning time across all courses

Certificates

When you complete all lessons and pass all quizzes in a course, you earn a certificate of completion. Certificates include:

• Your name and the course title
• Date of completion
• A unique verification code
• SpoofWard Academy branding

To view and download your certificates:

1. Navigate to Learn → Academy
2. Click My Certificates
3. Click Download next to any certificate to save a PDF copy

Team Learning

Workspace administrators can view team-wide Academy progress to track learning across the organization.

Team Progress Dashboard

Navigate to Learn → Academy → Team Progress to see:

• Each team member's course completion status
• Overall team completion rate per course
• Certificates earned across the team
• Members who have not started any courses

Assigning Courses

Administrators can recommend courses to team members. Recommended courses appear highlighted on the member's Academy homepage. To recommend a course:

1. Navigate to Learn → Academy → Team Progress
2. Click Recommend Course
3. Select the course and the team members
4. Optionally set a target completion date
5. Click Send Recommendation

Recommendations are informational and do not restrict access to other courses. All team members can browse and start any available course at any time.

Staying Current

SpoofWard regularly adds new courses and updates existing content to reflect changes in email security standards and best practices. When new courses are added, a notification appears on the Academy homepage. Completed courses may receive content updates — if significant changes are made, you will be prompted to review the new material.
